Masaya Nakamura

Masaya Nakamura was a Japanese executive and founder of Namco.
He founded his company on June 1, 1955, calling it Namamura Seisakusho, Ltd., with an initial capital of $3,000. He began producing machines for department stores.
In 1974, he bought the Japanese division of Atari from Nolan Bushnell to enter the arcade market. He renamed his company Namco in 1977, and from then on began to launch his first titles that would make the company one of the most dominant in Japan.
Nakamura passed away at the age of 91 on January 22, 2017.
