PC-FX / ピーシー エフエックス
The PC-FX is a 32-bit console developed by NEC and Hudson that was released on December 23, 1994, exclusively in Japan.
It is the successor to the PC Engine (TurboGrafx-16) and was NEC's bid to maintain its position in the console market.
Unfortunately, its extremely high price of 49,800 yen hurt its sales, so much so that NEC decided not to release the console outside Japan.
It was discontinued in 1998, with a total of 400,000 units sold.
