Wii
The Wii is a console released by Nintendo on November 19, 2006, which would change the company's branches in the video game market. After the underwhelming results of Nintendo 64 and Gamecube, Nintendo saw that it was not worth facing Microsoft and Sony directly with consoles with similar graphics power, preferring to focus on new ways to play that could attract new people.
Its development codename was Revolution, and Shigeru Miyamoto and Genyo Takeda led the development of the Wii. Its big news was the Wii Remote, a motion-sensing controller that was completely wireless.
Graphically the Wii was a little better than the GameCube, its predecessor, so it was a console that was cheap to produce, which yielded a lot of profit for Nintendo.
The Wii sold over 100 million units, and its best-selling game was Mario Kart Wii, with over 37 million units.
